Strong Record of Collaboration

During her tenure as Oak Park Village Clerk, she championed transparency and improved communication between residents and local government.

For the past four years as Oak Park Village President, Vicki has fostered collaborative relationships within our village and regionally, inclusive of public and private sector entities to increase opportunities for innovative strategies to reach our goals in all areas, to increase cooperation, efficiencies and reduce duplication.

She has championed our leadership with our extended suburban community as a founder of Cross Community Climate Collaborative (C4), leading on addressing climate change with 14 neighboring communities in partnership with public and private entities. She has a longstanding record of ensuring diverse voices are included at the board table.

Supports Local Businesses

As Chair of the Liquor Control Review Board she expanded opportunities for restaurant growth by loosening hours for operation and regulations for outdoor dining, expanded our liquor code to include microbrews, and licensing to support large community and cultural events.

She has long been supportive of our creative local businesses as a past board member of the Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Liquor Control Review Board for seven years.

Vicki is tapped into a vision for economic vitality that is inclusive, sustainable, aligned with our values and focused on highlighting our strengths as a destination location for the arts, cultural experiences, great food, architecture, and vibrant small business districts. Her work exemplifies integrity, advocacy, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all residents.

Champions Youth Justice and Opportunities

As a committed and hands on Executive Director of a local nonprofit music school for over 15 years she made a positive difference in hundreds of young lives.

Simultaneously serving as Chair of a Law Review Committee she led on the creation of local youth adjudication in both Oak Park and River Forest designed to keep minor offenses off of youth records and respond with equitable diversion strategies.
